More Than Pain Relief. Rehabilitation That Gets You Back to Sport

A Structured Pathway Back to Sport

For athletes and active people, being pain-free is only the beginning. At Summit Rehabilitation, rehabilitation is designed around what you need to do when you return to your sport. We progressively develop the strength, power, movement quality, balance, conditioning and confidence required for your individual goals.

Your rehabilitation will evolve as you recover, from restoring basic movement and strength, through to running, jumping, changing direction and sport-specific training where appropriate.

The goal is not simply to make you feel better. It is to make you ready to play.

Every rehabilitation programme is different, but the overall process is designed to progressively take you from injury back to the demands of your sport.

Assess

Understand your injury, current capabilities and the demands of your sport.

Rebuild

Restore movement, strength, capacity and control through targeted rehabilitation.

Develop

Progress towards higher-level strength, power, running, agility and sport-specific demands.

Return to Play

Build the confidence and physical capacity required to return to training and competition.

Objective Return-to-Sport Testing

Know when you're ready to return, not just when you feel ready. Returning to sport after injury is about more than being pain-free. You need to be able to produce, absorb and control force at the level your sport demands.

At Summit Rehabilitation, we use Hawkin Dynamics force plates to objectively assess strength, power, jumping and landing performance during rehabilitation. This allows us to track your progress, identify remaining deficits and help guide your progression back to sport.

Force plate testing can be used to assess:

  • Strength & force production

  • Left-to-right force asymmetry

  • Jump performance

  • Explosive power

  • Braking and eccentric force

  • Landing mechanics and control

  • Reactive strength

  • Progress throughout rehabilitation

Rather than relying solely on symptoms or time since injury, objective testing provides additional information about how your body is performing as you progress through rehabilitation.

Testing can be particularly valuable during late-stage rehabilitation and return to sport, helping us determine whether you are ready to progress towards higher-level running, jumping, changing direction and sport-specific demands.

From your first assessment through to return to play, we can use objective data to measure your progress and help guide your rehabilitation.
